The Cyberleek GTA VI Leak Saga — Timeline, the $30M Ultimatum & the Physical-Disc Demand

An anonymous leaker called Cyberleek is threatening to release a playable GTA VI build unless Take-Two reverses its no-physical-disc stance. The full timeline — and what it means for buyers.

For about two months, an anonymous account calling itself Cyberleek has been posting unauthorized GTA VI gameplay clips online — starting even before Rockstar’s own official Netflix reveal. In early October it dropped a ~25-minute parody video riffing on Rockstar’s “An Extended Look.” Then, on 10 October, it escalated: a public ultimatum posted on its own website.

The ultimatum, in brief

If the group’s Solana meme coin reaches a $30 million market cap, Cyberleek says it will release a playable GTA VI build — “full story mode, played to the end, credits and all.” The one way out it offers Take-Two: release the game on physical discs and apologize publicly for the digital-only pre-order plan.

Why discs matter here

Cyberleek has framed the whole campaign as a protest against Rockstar selling GTA VI pre-orders without a physical edition — and that lands because it’s true that even the physical box reportedly contains only a download code. (See our India pre-order guide for the no-disc fine print.)

What Take-Two has done

The publisher’s legal team has filed multiple subpoenas to Discord seeking information on servers and users tied to the leaks, describing its investigation as “rapidly evolving.” It previously withdrew a similar subpoena aimed at YouTube.

What to keep in perspective

Bottom line

With launch 37 days out, this is the messiest pre-launch leak saga in GTA history — and the physical-disc demand is the one part that touches every buyer. If Take-Two blinks on discs, our pre-order guide gets an update the same day.
