GTA VI “An Extended Look”: Every Detail & Easter Egg We Spotted

Context: Rockstar’s official ~26-minute “An Extended Look” premiered on Netflix on 27 August 2026, then went free on the Rockstar Games YouTube channel and rockstargames.com/VI six hours later. Captured entirely on PlayStation 5, no voiceover, and it ends by restating the 19 November 2026 release date. (A separate unauthorized ~25-minute leak titled “An Extended Leek” circulated in early October — this file covers only the official video.)

World scale

• The map is roughly twice the size of GTA V and about three times Red Dead Redemption 2 (per Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson).
• Vice City itself is roughly twice the size of Los Santos.
• Over 600,000 animations — vs ~55,000 in GTA V and ~300,000 in RDR2.
• Density is the visible payoff: crowds thick enough that Jason weaves through a packed nightclub; a fan boat crosses the Everglades; kayaks on open water; a parachute jump shows off draw distance.

Protagonists & systems

• Character switching between Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, with shootouts, police chases, a basketball mini-game and scuba diving shown.
• RDR2-style NPC interaction: hold the left trigger to interact — and it works on pets too. Dogs can be greeted, scolded, or studied, hinting at a catalogue of animals; greeting one appeared to unlock a perk or stat boost for Jason.
• Police reportedly remember clothing, and there’s an honor-style mechanic (per preview coverage) — both worth their own deep-dives closer to launch.

Easter eggs spotted

• A Call of Duty parody: an NPC wears a “Righteous Slaughter: Hood Ops” t-shirt (a riff on Call of Duty), worn by a member of the San4San crew with a huge S4S chain.
• A Vice City Manatees jersey — number 9, name “Rivers” — the fictional stand-in for the Miami Dolphins.
• A locked display cabinet at a drug den entrance with graffiti over legible messages underneath — the kind of micro-detail that rewards freeze-framing.

Reception

Netflix reported 31.1 million views in the first window, No. 1 in 87 of 93 tracked countries — a record-setting game reveal by streaming metrics.
